Objectives of the Position:
- To drive, identify and capitalize new business opportunities for our Platinum Group Metals (PGMs).
- To grow market share and achieve revenue growth within targeted industries in line with our Asset Backed Trading 5-year growth targets.
- To collaborate across our global Precious Metal Trading Services Unit.
Main Tasks
- Global Strategy Execution:
- Understand market trends, technological advancements, and competitive activities to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks, and feed insights into the broader Commercial and Trading organization.
- Learn all components of the business for future growth.
- Enhance brand and service offering awareness and generate leads globally.
- Relationship Building & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Foster new relationships with customers, focused on industrial demand applications (chemical, petroleum, glass, medical, electrical, jewelry), automotive manufacturers, and investment firms.
- Present our PGM services to prospective clients in a compelling and professional manner, including representing the business at industry conferences, trade shows, and executive-level meetings.
- Support front-office operations, including pricing, trade execution, credit management, contract preparation, and existing client support.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., trading, commercial, operations, finance, marketing, legal) to ensure seamless execution of quoting and onboarding new customers.
- Collaborate with global marketing analysts to develop target areas and applications to pursue new opportunities.
- To travel up to 20% of the time, both domestic and globally.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, majored in Finance, Mathematics, Chemistry or Engineering.
- Working Experience: 2 to 3 years’ sales experience in the PGM market.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- Understanding of the precious metals markets or chemical catalyst industry.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers/partners ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local independent enterprises.
- Proven ability to develop winning strategies that deliver commercial results within a diverse, challenging, and competitive business climate will be a valued asset.
- Robust analytical skills, solid organizational skills and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Business segment knowledge: customer and market value chain.
- Ability to identify, negotiate, and close new business opportunities.
- A highly motivated and results-oriented strategic thinker.
