YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing occupational health and safety in accordance with BASF guidelines and local legal regulations.

  • Coordinating daily import and export operations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements (classification, origin including analysis of all products covered by Free Trade Agreements – FTA, customs value) and smooth customs processes.

  • Co-developing the process of assessing operational efficiency of customs and logistics processes through KPI analysis and, based on this, proposing action plans and improvements.

  • Monitoring changes in customs regulations and proposing and implementing necessary adjustments in the customs area through internal compliance policies and procedures.

  • Reviewing and verifying issued and received documentation related to foreign trade processes, ensuring its accuracy and compliance, and undertaking corrective actions where necessary.

  • Cooperating with the Customs Office and other authorities responsible for international trade, as well as with other company departments.

  • Analyzing and interpreting product information to assign customs classifications in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff System.

  • Periodic monitoring and verification of customs classifications.

  • Control and archiving of customs documentation.

  • Responsibility for settlement of transportation costs and coordination of customs and tax payments.

  • Planning and monitoring inbound deliveries.

  • Placing orders and approving costs for special transport in accordance with BASF procedures.

  • Preparing transport documentation for shipments/products subject to SENT and ADR regulations.

  • Proposing and managing projects within the local customs team.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly; ability to build positive relationships.

  • Taking effective actions to achieve process objectives and monitoring their implementation.

  • Cooperation with other processes/functions.

  • Effective communication and ability to transfer knowledge.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced command of English (B2/C1).

  • Knowledge of quality tools: FMEA.

  • Knowledge of quality tools: Control Plan (CP).

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 requirements.

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949.

  • Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies, including 8D.

  • Knowledge of legal requirements in the area of import and export; registration on the list of customs agents and/or completed customs agent course.

  • Project management skills.

  • SAP proficiency.

  • MS Excel – intermediate level.
