As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Metals Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business. The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Leadership and Management:

• Leading, motivating, and developing Supply Chain Management teams.
• Setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
• Managing budgets and resources for the department.

SCM Operations and Strategy:

• Create and implement strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and align with overall business goals. 
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate production to prevent shortages or excess stock.
• Manage the end-to-end logistics and distribution processes to ensure timely delivery of products to customers. 
• Setting priorities in production and developing logistical solutions in case of shortages.
• Regularly reviewing the implementation of plans in cooperation with the sales department.
• Analysis of available production capacity in relation to current orders.
• Cooperation with external logistics service providers in consultation with the Procurement Department.
• Implement and maintain quality standards throughout the supply chain.
• Work closely with other departments, such as manufacturing, finance, sales, and marketing, to ensure supply chain alignment with business goals.
• Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements.

Compliance and Best Practices:

• Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and health, safety, and environmental regulations. 
•  Implementing and maintaining best practices for SCM operations.
• Staying up-to-date to the latest technologies and trends.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree – logistics or management profile

Experience:

• Automotive industry – 3 years and more
• Work in a similar position for 5 years or more
• Experience in team management – 5 years and more

Languages:

• English – advanced
• German – would be additional advantage

Qualifications and Knowledge:

• Logistics process management
• Knowledge of warehouse management principles
• Knowledge of the ASRS warehouse management system
• Knowledge of the production planning process
• Knowledge of quality tools: FMEA, CP
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, FIFO) - advanced level
• Project management
• SAP skills
• MS Excel skills - intermediate level
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 standard
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 requirements
• Knowledge of ISO 50001 requirements
• Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies, including 8D
• Risk management
