As a Strategic Maintenance Manager, you will LEAD by……….

The Strategic Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading, optimizing and guiding the maintenance operations of the Seneca site. This role focuses on developing and implementing long term maintenance strategies that align with business goals, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and enhancing operational efficiency.

 

You will report directly to the Site Director and be part of the Site Leadership Team.

 

In this role you will……

  • Develop. Improve and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Align maintenance strategies with organizational objectives to improve asset performance and reduce costs.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support daily maintenance operations across the Seneca site for related production lines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Monitor and develop KPIs and use data to drive maintenance decisions.
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budgets.
  • Optimize resource allocation and control costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage service agreements.
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) or similar tools to aid in establishing a world class maintenance organization.
  • Contribute to CapEx planning for reliability improvement projects
  • Applying your technical expertise, you will maintain the mechanical integrity audit requirements related to internal and external audits for PSM/RMP, ISO, MIOSHA, cGMP and RC.  You will also use this experience to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs and best practices for mechanical equipment.
  • Your problem-solving and troubleshooting ability will be critical as you drive root cause failure analysis or equipment failures and implement corrective actions.  You will also use these abilities to identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the overall maintenance process and improve cost efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support other assignments by leadership

 

Your elements for success……

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, Electrical or Mechanical, Medtronic’s, or related field, required.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in industrial or hands on maintenance environment, required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or automated systems, required.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications in maintenance management or safety compliance are a plus.
  • Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Lean methodologies.
  • Business Acumen in Maintenance related activities and the Precious Metals Market

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $125,000 - $160,000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
