The Reliability Specialist/Technician is responsible for leading and executing precision maintenance, preventive maintenance (PM), and predictive maintenance (PdM) tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. This role supports the Reliability vision of the site through assistance with planning, scheduling, and execution of work orders, troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis, and implementing reliability improvements to minimize downtime and maximize asset life.
As a Reliability Specialist/Technician, you will…
- Perform precision maintenance activities including alignment, shaft-sealing installations, balancing, torquing, and lubrication according to OEM and reliability standards.
- Execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) tasks such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic inspections; assisting with program and route development as requested.
- Coordinate Contractors as necessary for specialty PM/PdM work.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to assess equipment health.
- Assist in work order planning and scheduling, ensuring proper parts, tools, and resources are available for efficient execution.
- Train and mentor technicians and other staff on precision maintenance, PM, and PdM techniques.
- Assist in installation and testing of new equipment.
- Document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Assist with TAR planning and task completion. Relevant tasks being Relief Device, Pressure Regulator and Tank/Vessel Maintenance & Inspections.
- Assist with critical equipment and Mechanical Integrity PM creation and task execution.
- Support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of equipment failures through the analysis of failure modes and their impact on operations.
- Provide technical support and training to Maintenance and Operations personnel.
- Develop and distribute reports on activities relevant to job duties.
- Collaborate with Reliability Engineers, Maintenance, and Operations teams to identify and implement reliability improvements.
- Maintain compliance with Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards during all maintenance activities.
- Participate in Safety and Risk Assessment processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field strongly preferred.
- Experience (Required):
- 5+ years in maintenance or reliability roles within industrial/manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with precision maintenance practices and PdM technologies.
- Leadership and training experience.
- CMMS experience.
- Work Order planning experience.
- Skills:
- Solid understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Experience in vibration analysis, ultrasound, thermography, and lubrication best practices.
- Familiarity with pump curves and pump sizing.
- Strong understanding of CMMS systems and work order management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

The competitive Pay Rate for this role is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
