As a Reliability Engineer (Fixed Equipment) you will LEAD by……….

  • Managing and coordinating the Mechanical Integrity Fixed Asset program, ensuring all applicable equipment (tanks, pressure vessel, piping, and relief devices) is inspected, tested, and maintained according to best practices and is compliant with regulatory and corporate requirements.  This will be up to 50% of job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and experience of corrosion mechanisms, metallurgical analysis, and chemical compatibilities.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise on all types of mechanical equipment (fixed and rotating).
  • Leading and participating in Root Cause Failure Analyses for chronic equipment failures or single failure events resulting in high financial impact.
  • Planning and coordinating work (using internal and external resources) necessary to complete tasks including PM, PdM, and corrective activities.
  • Facilitating equipment criticality analysis reviews to identify critical equipment, develop maintenance plans, and identify strategic/critical spare parts.
  • Utilizing RCM methodology to develop, document, prioritize, evaluate, and maintain equipment maintenance strategies.
  • Supporting capital and expense project activities by incorporating design for maintainability and functionality, identifying necessary spare parts, and developing maintenance strategies where necessary. The safety of people and equipment will be top priority.
  • Adding, updating, and correcting equipment information and maintenance strategies in SAP.
  • Demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to work activities.

You will interface with numerous other BASF and contractor personnel who may work different shift schedules.

 

Your elements for success……

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.  Relevant Fixed Asset Management experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years experience with Mechanical Integrity Fixed Asset Maintenance Program Management.
  • Working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) and associated RAGAGEPs such as ASME Sect VIII BPVC, ASME B31 Piping, API 650, API 570, API 510, etc.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead and work in teams.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in design, operation, and maintenance of various types of equipment (fixed and rotating). 
  • Experience in developing and maintaining asset management strategies consisting of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Plans and Spare Parts evaluation. 
  • Working knowledge of PdM technologies for fixed and rotating such as ultrasonic thickness, eddy current, vibration analysis, airborne ultrasonics, thermography, oil analysis, etc. 
  • Understanding of Maintenance corrective work identification, planning, scheduling, and execution best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with experience in facilitating RCAs in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP PM or similar CMMS systems. Must be able to navigate within the system as required to display and update equipment information (Work Orders, Maintenance Plans, Bills of Materials, Equipment Data, etc.)

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $90,000- $115,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
