The Seneca, SC engineering team for ECMS is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Process Engineering Project Manager to lead capital projects and provide process engineering support to site operations. This role is responsible for managing all phases of projects, from scope development and engineering design through construction, commissioning, and startup, ensuring all activities comply with safety standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ASME, API).
As Process Engineering Project Manager you will LEAD by……….
- Project Planning & Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed scopes of work, budgets (ranging from expense to multimillion-dollar capital projects), and schedules (using tools like MS Project).
- Engineering & Design Oversight: Provide technical engineering design and process engineering support. Review and interpret technical drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and specifications. Size and specify process equipment such as pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, and piping systems. Assist Seneca operations with process-related requests and needs as they arise.
- Construction & Site Management: Work with in-house and 3rd party resources to oversee all construction activities and direct internal teams, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, enforce safety protocols, and ensure quality control standards are met.
- Budget & Cost Control: Prepare detailed cost estimates, track expenditures, manage cash flow, and control costs throughout project lifecycles. Analyze project performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Team Collaboration: Lead multidisciplinary teams, including Operations, Maintenance, Utilities, Engineering and Construction crews, to ensure seamless project execution. Participate in and lead conceptual-level engineering studies when new business opportunities arise.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture and ensure strict adherence to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and building codes. Facilitate the execution of Process Safety Reviews (HAZOP, MOC, PSSR) and occasionally assist operations with audit-related requests.
- Procurement & Resource Allocation: Manage the project procurement process, evaluate vendor bids, select equipment, and ensure timely delivery and specification compliance of materials and equipment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between clients, engineers, architects, inspectors, and internal management, providing regular progress reports and managing expectations.
- Troubleshooting & Risk Management: Identify potential risks, conflicts, and issues (e.g., delays, budget overruns) and develop effective mitigation strategies and solutions.
Your elements for success…….
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in project management/process engineering within a heavy industrial setting, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or similar process manufacturing industries.
- Project Management Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices, including cost control, estimating, scheduling, and forecasting.
- Computer Skills: Experience with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, MS Project, AutoCAD, etc
- Proficiency with SAP and S/4 modules is a critical job requirement from day 1 – specifically the projects and procurement modules
Preferred skills
- Soft Skills - Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, and organizational skills. Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Successful individual must demonstrate an ability to adapt to changing business priorities when new opportunities arise.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus, but not a requirement
- Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to LEAN or similar process

The competitive Pay Range for this role is $125k-$145k annually. Actual pay will be determine based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
