As a Maintenance Engineer you will LEAD by……….

  • Driving plant reliability performance by providing mechanical engineering expertise focused on the maintenance aspect of production equipment.
  • Providing expertise in troubleshooting equipment and completing Root Causes Analysis as needed.
  • Assisting in the completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work by using the most appropriate and effective tools and techniques.
  • Supporting capital and expense projects by ensuring maintainability is built into equipment design, identifying critical spare parts, developing PM programs, and defining repair strategies.
  • Collaborating with Production and Maintenance personnel to assess daily needs.
  • Monitoring maintenance KPIs for early issue detection.
  • Optimizing PM/PdM programs and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives by using reliability‐centered maintenance (RCM), FMEA, and time-based and condition-based monitoring techniques.
  • Participating in spare parts inventory management exercises through periodic reviews of critical equipment BOMs and spare parts usage reports.
  • Auditing the SAP work order system for proper completion of work, comments entry, and closing.
  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance & Planning Departments for specialized tasks.
  • Mentoring and training maintenance technicians on best practices, safe work procedures, and new technologies to build a high-performance, safety-focused team.
  • Lead and implement Precision Maintenance practices within the Maintenance Department, including training, periodic audits, and techniques such as laser alignment, dynamic balancing, precision bolting, dimensional checks, and lubrication.
  • Manage third-party contractors for specialized equipment maintenance, overseeing scopes of work, bid evaluations, compliance with standards, and project completion.

You will interface with numerous other BASF and contractor personnel who may work different shift schedules.

 

 

Your elements for success……

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering PLUS 2-5 years relevant Maintenance Engineering experience.
  • Associates degree and 3+ years’ experience in a similar maintenance/engineering role.
  • Leveraging your education and experience in a plant maintenance environment, you will troubleshoot equipment failures and make recommendations to Operations and Maintenance on equipment repair/reliability, including emergency work reviews.
  • Your robust analytical ability and CMMS experience will aid you in preparing specific reports within SAP.  This will, in turn, allow you to appropriately monitor and adjust the PM intervals, arrange scheduling with equipment owners where necessary, and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance of the equipment.
  • Utilizing your knowledge of various types of rotating equipment, you will ensure proper application, installation, and maintenance practices are in order and provide technical support to the Maintenance Group’s Specialists and Craftsmen on difficult repair activities.
  • Your strong problem-solving ability and working knowledge of Maintenance policies and procedures will be essential for leading or participating in RCAs and executing corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.
  • Using your proven organizational skills, you will be responsible for defining and ensuring strategic spare parts are managed and maintained.

  • Background and experience with Precision, Preventive, and Predictive Maintenance in Industrial Environment

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
