Laboratory In-Service Trainee - Port Elizabeth

What you can expect

The incumbent will be responsible for providing adequate support to production through analysis and release of raw material, in process and final product, as well as verifying the calibration of lab equipment. Duties will include the following:

•     Complying with all EH & S guidelines and procedures
•     Ensuring that all tasks are performed safely   
•      Analyzing all raw material, in-process and final product samples submitted to the lab
•     Ensuring accurate and precise analysis of all samples through repeatable sample preparation and measurement
•     Retrieving results, recording results in SAP_QM, analyzing results against specification and making usage decision to either release or place On Hold
•     Calibration and verification of test and support equipment
•      Safe handling, storage and disposal of test samples and lab chemicals
•     Shipment of test samples
•     Writing or advising on revision of laboratory work instructions and processes

What we expect

•     Studying towards a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or higher qualification in Chemistry
•     Minimal laboratory experience
•     Ability to handle high workload volumes and meet tight deadlines
