What you can expect
The incumbent will be responsible for loading, packing parts from and in the boxes, checking for defects, loading parts correctly on the conveyer for coating, ensuring accurate labelling of the packed boxes, palletizing as per work instruction and 100% inspection and packing of intermediate and finished product at offline from coating lines. Duties will include the following:
- Ensuring 5S standards are adhered to, promoting a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Receiving released raw substrates / intermediates for coating
- Ensuring that First Off and Visual Aid sample are available at all times
- Ensuring calciner settings are correct & setting up calciner to Shuttlewurth brushes
- Off loading parts from boxes, checking for defects as per quality standards
- Loading of raw substrates / intermediates
- Maintaining material flow of pallets and boxes
- Receiving & verifying correctness of box and / barcode labels
- Off loading from calciner / conveyer belt, inspecting and packing parts in boxes
- Setting up plug detection equipment as required
- Setting up barcode and stamp code equipment as required ensuring that parts are stamped and / bar-coded correctly
- Applying barcode and stamp code for parts at Offline from Coating lines
- Monitoring and checking for defects as per visual aid/quality standards and escalating issues immediately
- Labelling boxes with the correct box labels
- Loading inspected boxes onto pallets for removal by Material Handler / Storeman
- Completion of all required PLT paperwork and in-process checks
- Properly identifying and segregating scrap to prevent contamination
- Packing and inspecting intermediates and finished product from the coating lines
- Performing 100% part inspection and verification of parts at Offline against BASF quality standards/specifications
- Full Participation in coater and end-of-line changeover and weekly TPM
- Notifying Supervisor of any repeated and / or consistent defects (e.g. wash coat adhesion, chips or cracks)
- Operating Super flow / Delta P machine as required
- Operating brushing equipment and performing brushing related tasks as required
- Reporting any unsafe conditions to Line Supervisor / Shift Supervisor / Shift Leader
- Performing any other related duties in the interest of the Company as instructed
What we expect
- Matriculation with Mathematics and Science
- Minimum 1 year’ coating material handling experience
- Computer literacy
- Slurry mixing and Recycle experience advantageous
