Site Director – Indaiatuba
Lead the Site. Own the Operation. Deliver Results.
At METIVO – BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions, we are looking for a technically strong Site Director to take full end-to-end responsibility for our Indaiatuba site. This role combines operational leadership with direct ownership of safety, production, engineering, maintenance, quality, supply chain, cost, people, and site performance.
As Site Director, you will be present in the operation, close to the shop floor, equipment, processes, and teams. You will turn business priorities into executable operating plans, resolve technical and organizational issues at their source, and ensure disciplined daily management. In addition, you will serve as a member of the Management Board of the Brazilian legal entity and contribute to its governance, statutory responsibilities, risk management, and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full end-to-end accountability for safe, reliable, compliant, and profitable site operations, translating business targets into daily priorities and measurable execution.
- Lead from the shop floor through visible presence, structured operating reviews, Gemba walks, and rapid escalation and resolution of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and equipment issues.
- Own PGM performance, process capability, OAE, scrap, utilities, inventory, working capital, and customer delivery; establish clear countermeasures where performance deviates from plan.
- Ensure asset reliability and technical integrity through effective preventive and predictive maintenance, root-cause analysis, spare-parts management, shutdown planning, and disciplined execution of corrective actions.
- Responsibility for direct engineering and capital projects from technical scope and business case through installation, commissioning, start-up, and benefits realization, with rigorous control of safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Maintain robust process safety, occupational safety, environmental, quality, product stewardship, and regulatory systems; personally ensure that risks, incidents, audits, and compliance gaps are addressed effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, problem-solving, statistical, and digital methods; standardize processes and strengthen automation, data transparency, and frontline ownership.
- Lead and develop the site organization, set clear accountabilities, build technical capability, and foster a culture of discipline, collaboration, speaking up, and ownership.
- Own the site P&L-relevant operating cost base, annual budget, forecasts, productivity pipeline, investment plan, and resource allocation; deliver sustainable cost and cash improvements without compromising safety, quality, or supply.
- Act as a member of the Management Board of the Brazilian legal entity, sharing accountability for governance, statutory compliance, enterprise risk, business continuity, and decisions affecting the company as a whole.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Process, or Industrial Engineering; a strong technical education is essential.
- Robust experience in industrial operations, including substantial leadership responsibility for a manufacturing site or integrated production area.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve complex production, process, maintenance, quality, and reliability problems through structured technical problem-solving and direct field engagement.
- Strong command of plant economics, operating budgets, cost drivers, capital prioritization, inventory, working capital, and productivity delivery.
- Practical experience with production systems, process safety, maintenance and reliability, engineering and project execution, quality management, and supply chain interfaces in a regulated industrial environment.
- Proven leadership style that combines strategic judgment with hands-on execution, visible shop-floor presence, high standards, and the willingness to make timely decisions.
- Fluent Portuguese and advanced English are required.
- Experience working with senior leadership, customers, authorities, employee representatives, and corporate functions; prior exposure to legal-entity governance or board responsibilities is preferred.
