As the Quality Assurance Engineer, Aerospace (Huntsville), you will lead by:
We are looking for a professional like you to be responsible for executing and improving the effectiveness of the Quality Management System and driving product quality across manufacturing and MRO operations. You will ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements while driving systemic issue resolution, process performance improvement, and supplier quality effectiveness.
The Aerospace Business in ECMS produces ozone and ozone/VOC converters for aircraft and services these products through our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facilities in HSV and Shanghai.
In this role, you will report to the Global Quality Manager of Aerospace. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure quality systems are effective, aligned, and consistently executed across manufacturing and MRO environments. This position is onsite in Huntsville, AL, with approximately 10% travel to support audits, supplier engagement, and cross-site alignment initiatives.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Functioning as the execution owner of the Quality Management System, you will drive compliance with AS9100, FAA Part 145, and internal quality processes, ensuring procedures are controlled, implemented, and effective across all operations.
- Supporting the internal audit program, you will plan, execute, and coordinate audits to verify compliance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement, while the Global Quality Manager maintains overall accountability for audit effectiveness.
- Managing the CAPA process, you will be responsible for execution and effectiveness, including initiation, root cause analysis, tracking, and validation of corrective and preventive actions to ensure systemic issues are resolved and recurrence is prevented.
- Leading customer complaints and escape investigations, you will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional investigations, ensuring containment, identifying root causes, and driving corrective actions to closure.
- Partnering with the Global Quality Manager and Engineering, you will be responsible for execution of the MRB process, ensuring nonconformances are accurately documented, tracked, triaged, and progressed in a timely and compliant manner, with trends escalated through CAPA processes.
- Driving process performance monitoring, you will be responsible for ensuring SPC, control plans, and process capability monitoring are actively implemented and maintained, ensuring stable, capable, and compliant manufacturing and MRO processes.
- Governing Management of Change (MOC) processes, you will ensure changes are properly executed, risk-assessed, documented, and implemented, including verification that associated documentation, control plans, and procedures are updated accordingly.
- Supporting document control governance, you will ensure procedures, work instructions, and quality records are properly maintained, version-controlled, and compliant with regulatory and customer requirements, while the Global Quality Manager maintains overall accountability.
- Owning execution of the supplier quality system, you will manage supplier corrective actions (SCAR), track supplier quality issues, and ensure supplier-related nonconformances are integrated into CAPA and continuous improvement processes.
- Collaborating with Supply Chain, you will support supplier performance management by providing quality data, validating corrective actions, and ensuring supplier quality risks are identified and mitigated, while maintaining clear distinction between quality system ownership and commercial supplier management.
- Utilizing data-driven analysis, you will actively monitor and analyze key quality metrics including audit findings, CAPA effectiveness, escape trends, supplier quality performance, MRB data, and process capability to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Supporting alignment between HSV and Shanghai quality systems, you will ensure consistency in the application of quality processes while accommodating site-specific regulatory and operational requirements.
This position is a BB4 and will report to the Global Quality Manager. The position will remain posted until June 21, 2026.
Your elements for success……
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related technical discipline required.
- 5+ years of experience with aerospace quality systems required, including AS9100; familiarity with FAA Part 145 and/or MRO environments preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing Quality Management Systems, including audits, CAPA, document control, and continuous improvement processes required.
- Experience with process performance monitoring, including statistical process control (SPC), control plans, and variation reduction methodologies required.
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes in regulated manufacturing or MRO environments preferred.
- Experience with supplier quality processes, including corrective action management (SCAR), supplier audits, and supplier quality performance monitoring preferred.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and corrective action effectiveness validation.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing and/or repair environment preferred.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain while maintaining clarity of roles and responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and process discipline.
- Experience working in a global or multi-site environment preferred.
