At the BASF ECMS Huntsville Site, we make the chemistry and technology used in vehicle catalytic convertors and other environmental products. As part of our team, employees help us conceive, design, implement and validate new equipment, technologies and processes to help make our world's environment cleaner. Our Prototype Sample Lab (PSL) plays a vital role in the success of not only our Huntsville plant but many of our other Environmental Catalyst sister sites around the world.
As a PSL Inventory and Account Specialist you will LEAD by……….
- Contributing to our success by ensuring that Prototype Sample Lab (PSL) orders are processed for timely shipping based on both internal and external customer demands.
- Utilizing SAP to consume raw materials into finished goods inventory, create sales orders to prepare for shipping, and manage all delivery priorities for our domestic (US) customer base.
- Maintaining and monitoring material inventory counts to ensure they are both accurate and minimized where possible.
- Providing a crucial link in the PSL workflow process, performing frequent analysis, checks, and tasks associated with PSL financial data accuracy and improvement.
- Executing order to cash processing of sales orders including expediting, basic returns, backorder monitoring, NCM reporting, tracking and tracing, credit card processing, material availability inquiries, price discrepancy reporting and sample or zero-dollar invoices for the PSL.
- Monitoring and take prompt action on any issues that may arise during orders to cash processing (invoice resolution, price discrepancy resolution, material availability, etc.).
- Directly contributing to supply chain initiatives including but not limited to managing slow moving and/or aged inventory reduction. Perform various inventory checks, audits, and reports as needed using SAP, HPOD, and other database systems. This includes monitoring of PSL PGM inventories and participating in initiatives to reduce losses / variances.
- Providing quality service to internal and external customers, including proactive notification of work order status and issues.
- Engaging the business with customer issues and requirements and in providing and/or leading a solution.
- Developing and maintain internal and external customer relationships.
- Understanding and enforcing stated business rules where required.
- Performing concise investigations to aid in Accounts Receivables reconciliation including timely execution of credit and debits when required.
- Acting as the liaison for customers within BASF ECMS and with external service providers.
- Monitoring and update the HPOD Jump-Start list to ensure work orders flow efficiently and correctly to final shipping to the customer.
- Participating in various PSL teams, initiatives, and activities throughout the year in support of PSL departmental X-Matrix and scorecard.
- Demonstrating your ability to effectively manage complex projects and timelines for BASF ECMS including organizing key deliverables, establishing and meeting deadlines/time management, action item resolution, information sharing with stakeholders, decision making, collaboration and final presentation.
Your elements for success……
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in supply chain/logistics, science, or technology
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing plant operations and/or pilot plant inventory management processes and systems
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with SAP systems and processes
- Advanced level proficiency with SAP Cobalt systems
- Advanced level proficiency with MS Excel
- Intermediate level proficiency with other MS Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Intermediate level proficiency/ability to develop proficiency with training of the HPOD system for PSL
- Knowledge and understanding of supply chain planning processes as well as inventory management and control
- Ability to interact professionally with BASF sales, R&D, application engineers and other internal / external customers and work well in a team environment
- Demonstrated track record of strong problem-solving ability, and being able to manage / set priorities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with customer service mindset.

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $70,000 - $110,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
