As the Head of Business Controlling, Americas you will LEAD by……….

We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for both North America and South America regional controlling and the management of financial reporting and services to the assigned business (NA OEM, Global Aerospace segment) and the Americas Region. This role is aligned with key business and functional interfaces, including sales, marketing, and regional functions. In this role, you will proactively provide guidance and consult and partner with the business leadership to help steer the business and to enable appropriate financial decision making and value generation. You will also drive reporting automation and digitalization topics to improve the analytical capabilities and increase the effectiveness of the organization. You will have managerial responsibility for the site controlling team of both NA and SA region and a Financial Analyst in the region. As a manager of people, you will be responsible for supervising, leading and motivating team members while also cultivating relationships with senior business and functional leadership across the business to enable effective financial evaluations. You will need to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your previous responsibility for business accounting and reporting, including systems and procedures, as well as your solid knowledge of accounting theory and practice, cost accounting and systems, budgets, financial/economic analysis, planning and internal control methodologies. We will also look for you to have knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will also get to share your ability to participate and lead key activities of business projects and to ensure accuracy and reasonableness of all data utilized for forward-looking views for business group projects.

In this role you will:

• Serve as a key member of the regional management team, you will provide strategic financial counsel and support, anticipate issues and propose directional priorities based on indicators for decision making purposes.

• Manage, analyze, and monitor business and operational performance, ensuring integrity and accuracy of the BU's financial results and coordinate key business topics with the South America controlling team.

• Lead the business and site controlling teams in the Americas region.

• Lead budget development and forecast preparation, including analysis of variances between forecast, budget, and actual performance.

• Support Account Management and Marketing teams with KPI tracking and profitability analysis with global responsibility for North American OEMs and LD market segment.

• Act as the key interface between the Mobile Emissions Americas controlling team and the regional finance including credit, finance, accounting and ensure functional support in the region is aligned with business goals.

• Ensure all financials are compliant with BASF ECMS’s accounting guidelines and that all internal controls are appropriately enforced within the organization.

Your elements for success……

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, science, engineering, or a related discipline required, master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of business experience that includes progressive controlling, finance, or accounting experience required.  Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
• Experience working with analytical tools and translating information (Excel, SAP, etc.), and experience and knowledge working with the financial reporting systems (e.g. MARIS, SAP etc.) required
• Ability to communicate, interact and influence effectively with all levels of personnel and management (including appropriate oral and written presentations) required
• Experience interpreting, directing, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and ensuring that adequate internal controls are maintained preferred
• Experience leading a team

The competitive Pay Range for this role is $160k-$190k annually. Actual pay will be determine based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
