Role Overview
As a Site‑Level Process Technology Engineer, you will serve as the technical backbone of your local manufacturing site while operating as an integral member of a global technology network. You will support the full product lifecycle—from early development and prototype builds to mass production and aftermarket manufacturing, ensuring robust processes, consistent quality, and seamless alignment with global standards.
This role requires balancing the agility and specialized knowledge of a smaller site with the capabilities, best practices, and innovation pipeline of a global catalyst production organization. You will contribute your site’s unique expertise while expanding your competencies through active participation in global development, production, and technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full Product Lifecycle Support
- Support the entire product cycle, from development and prototype builds to serial production and aftermarket manufacturing.
- Ensure manufacturability of new products and alignment with global technology standards.
- Participate in technology reviews, and cross‑site knowledge exchange.
2. Prototype‑to‑Production Industrialization
- Support smooth transition of new catalyst products from prototype to mass production at the local site.
- Define, validate, and document production parameters, process windows, and control strategies.
- Conduct pilot runs, capability studies, and readiness assessments in collaboration with global technology teams.
3. Quality Conformance & Customer Requirements
- Ensure local production processes meet customer‑specific quality and regulatory requirements.
- Translate customer specifications into robust process controls and quality standards.
- Support root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement of quality performance.
4. Production Monitoring & Technical Stewardship
- Monitor daily production performance, process stability, and adherence to defined parameters.
- Provide expert troubleshooting for process deviations, yield losses, or equipment issues.
5. Process Optimization & Innovation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and improve product consistency.
- Identify and implement process innovations, automation opportunities, and digital tools.
6. Local–Global Integration
- Ensure local practices benefit from global standards, tools, and technical advancements.
- Support global harmonization efforts while adapting solutions to the realities of a smaller site footprint.
- Support cross‑functional teams during product launches, and troubleshooting events.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in process engineering, manufacturing technology, catalyst production, materials development, or a related technical area.
- Strong understanding of catalyst coating, substrate handling, or advanced materials manufacturing.
- Experience with process scale‑up, statistical process control, and quality systems.
- Ability to work effectively in both local and global team structures.
Preferred
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other automotive quality frameworks.
- Familiarity with digital manufacturing tools, automation, and data analytics.
- Lean/Six Sigma training or continuous improvement experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence across functions.
