Basic Purpose:
Catalyst Production & Characterizations – Meeting the Research and Development Sample requirements of RD&A department of BASF Catalysts India.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare catalysts using standard catalyst preparation and coating techniques.
- Make observations during the experiments and report/discuss these observations with the researchers.
- To maintain a Clean and Safe Work environment by following the best practices of 3C & 5S, demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset to improve lab safety and quality of output.
- Prioritize safety in lab operation; always follow the requirement of prescribed personal protective equipment (PPEs) as per the area of operation / activity performed.
- Ensure all inventory in the lab area is adequately stored as per best practices with labeling and packaging for raw materials, intermediate materials and finished catalyst articles as per site procedures.
- Track inventory of raw materials and re-stock as needed. Maintain the finished goods quality / quantity as per the specified norms
- Work with individuals from the same team as well as other teams and ensure complex tasks with competing priorities are completed in a timely and effective manner.
- Perform necessary quality checks on the slurry / coated parts.
- Ensure disposal of waste generated from lab activities as per site procedures and practices
- Report Near Miss, Unsafe Act and conditions in yellow tag report out system, participate in risk assessments and implement corrective actions as and when required.
- Ensure all machinery are maintained as per standard practices and resolve any breakdowns or repair with support from allied departments.
Job requirement
- ≥4 year degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Materials Science or related fields, required
- 1+ years of additional lab experience in an industrial environment, required
- Demonstrated experience in new idea generation and/or intellectual property topics, preferred
